Direct Entry Timeline in Australia

For direct entry to medical programmes in Australia, the application process usually occurs through one of the state/territory admission centres (e.g. UAC, VTAC, QTAC, SATAC, TISC) and/or through university websites. As a result, unlike graduate programs where the majority of medical schools process their applications through GEMSAS, application processes to direct entry programmes are far more varied in terms of the dates when applications are due, interview offers are made, interviews are sat and final offers are made. 

Hence, the table below is presented for you to get an overview of the general application process and timeline for most direct entry medical programmes. Please do check the official websites of the universities that you are intending to apply to for the exact dates, bearing in mind that these may not be published until later in the year. International applicants should also note the ISAT dates here.

As you can see, you will have many deadlines and assessments (UCAT ANZ and interviews) throughout the year on top of your high school studies. We therefore strongly recommend that you start preparing early for your UCAT ANZ and interviews.
